We launched Cratox AI on the App Store on January 5th. Today, just five weeks after we started the Android project on January 15th, the app is live on Google Play.
When we shipped the iOS version in early January, we kicked off the Android build on January 15th. Five weeks later, it's done. A year ago, even with multiple Android developers working on it simultaneously, this timeline would have been unrealistic.
But the way we build software has changed.
We are a small team. We have always been a small team. We move fast because we have to — and now we move faster because AI tooling has fundamentally shifted what a small team can accomplish.
This is not about replacing developers. It is about removing the friction that used to slow everything down: boilerplate code, platform-specific edge cases, repetitive testing patterns, the hundreds of small decisions that eat up weeks of calendar time. AI handles the mechanical work. Our team focuses on the product — on the experience, the accuracy of the nutrition data, and the details that actually matter to users.
The result: a full Android release in five weeks, built to the same standard as our iOS app.
Everything. The Android app is not a stripped-down port. It is the same Cratox experience:
The app is free. We are not gating core features behind a paywall.
Widgets, an AI assistant, lab test integrations, and more. Being on both platforms means we can now reach a much wider audience, and that feedback loop accelerates everything.
If you have been waiting for the Android version — it is here. Download it, try it, and let us know what you think.
